Mark Stanford, Ph.D (aka Dr. Neurosci). is the Director of the Addiction Medicine and Therapy division for a large County Health & Hospital System Department of Alcohol & Drug Services in California. Dr. Stanford is also a research educator in the clinical and behavioral neurosciences and is an Associate Professor of psychopharmacology at Cal State Hayward and UC Berkeley Extension. He lectures at Stanford University Department of Family and Community Medicine as well.
Dr. Stanford has been in the addictions treatment profession since 1976 and has direct clinical experience within the modalities of inpatient, day treatment, outpatient and medication-assisted treatment programs.
Dr. Stanford is the author of 4 books including Behavioral Pharmacology of Drug Addiction and Mental Illness. He is the Chief Editor and contributor of the series, Professional Perspectives on Addiction Medicine.
